Is Momo Challenge the New Suicide Game?

If you’ve seen the creepy woman image, step back. Momo Challenge is the new death trap.

Is Momo Challenge the New Suicide Game?

After the Blue Whale Challenge, a terror of death creeps in with The Momo Challenge. It’s nearly one year back when the blue whale challenge spread all over the world through various suicidal challenges. The same route is again followed by the Momo Challenge where ultimately the people are forced to suicide.

A creepy image of a woman with eyes coming out of the socket, distorted smile that’s stretched covering the pale face and black strands of hair remains the face of the challenge. The lower portion of the body is more of a mixture of human and animal. Reportedly, this character that’s spreading the terror is called “Momo”. In this game, the kids become the easy targets. The kids are being asked to share this terrifying image through Whatsapp and that’s how you become a part of the game. The character Momo shares more violent images and gives various orders defying which the player gets a threat from Momo. There has been a report of a 12-year-old girl who died due to this challenge.

This image was initially photoshopped by a Japanese special effects company called Link Factory. The artist Midori Hayashi is famous for his bizarre dolls that he makes using several animal parts. The artist and the company both say that it is true that the artwork is very much disturbing to look at but using this for the deadly game was never in the plan. It was on display in Vanilla Gallery, which displayed horror art. The title of the artwork is Mother Bird. This image is basically a sculpture with no such intention but later its image is used for evil intentions in this sick “suicide” game.

The death of this 12-year girl is linked with this game when the dead body of the girl was found in the backyard of her home in Buenos Aires, Argentina. As per reports, she was found having a conversation with Momo. The police officials have examined her phone and are now enquiring an 18-year-old girl whom she met through social media. As per the police statements, “The phone has been hacked to find footage and WhatsApp chats, and now the alleged adolescent with whom she exchanged those messages is being sought,” As per the police records, the intention of this 18-year-old girl was to upload the video in the social media. It has been claimed that this uploading is a part of the challenge and the credit must be given to the Momo Challenge when the video is uploaded.

There are other reports as well that claim that Momo sends violent images in the night and to random people threatening and cursing them. There also have been reports from the players that they receive calls where they hear someone screaming or making weird noises.

The police have been investigating on all the available cues to find out who is behind this death game. Till then, the people are being asked not to add the creepy person in their chat list and not entertain such calls or texts. Experts say that like all these deadly games, this also has the teenage at its target. With reports of disturbed childhood, these kids are vulnerable, weak with their emotions and thus become an easy target. The experts also say that loneliness and stress are so common in children these days that these games take the opportunity. The kids do not have enough time from their parents and they succumb to this womb of loneliness and they wish to have the available attention from anywhere possible. The situation is worse as such games are coming in the scene from time to time killing the childhood of many children. Blue Whale and Slenderman are some of them. Not always they face death, but often they get traumatized by such incidents that involve fear and threats.

Some of the other previous challenges

Blue Whale was one such game that had spread like fire. It involved a series of challenges that were done through a course of 50 days. The challenges began with small tasks like making a small cut on the finger, watching horror movies all day, not sleeping for a night. But slowly it was taking the players close to oblivion from where they were unable to step back. Even after the news of deaths through this Blue Whale Game, the players continued to play this game.

Slenderman had a somewhat same strategy where the last stage was death. The beginning was again quite simple and involved a Photoshop challenge. Slenderman came into light when two 12-year-old girls were asked about the death of their classmate. As per reports, the two girls planned and brought one of their classmates into the woods. Thereafter, they stabbed her 19 times and caused her death. Later when they were asked the reason behind this they said they were ordered by Slenderman and they were simply following the orders.

United States of America, Germany, France, Mexico, and Argentina are at risk of this game as per the expert’s predictions. They are also saying that the main intention is to hack the personal information and use it further for illegal usage. They get all your information before they start manipulating you. There are several YouTubers who are exploring the Momo number to gain popularity through this game. They are doing Facetime, calling and texting the alleged Momo numbers.

But if the game is actually responsible for the death, the question is why and who is doing this. Why are people falling into this trap? Is it mere attention seeking ways or loneliness and vulnerable people are falling in the death trap? Parents are asked to be more careful of the situation. The people who get the message or call are being asked to inform the police right after without any delay. The police need more valid information and they are repeatedly asking not to encourage or experiment with this game. It might not be deadly for all who are aware of it but it will definitely cost your personal data leakage.
