Michelle Obama and Rose Hulse Give Their Inputs on the Royal Family Conflict

The recent revelations made by Meghan Markle in the Oprah Winfrey show about racism in the royal family created quite a stir in the media.

Now the former first lady of the United States Michelle Obama has come forward and shared her thoughts on the debatable subject.

In an interview with Jenna Bush Hager on NBC’s Today show, Michelle opened up on the subject. Without taking sides Michelle highlighted factors like “family” and “forgiveness” during the conversation. In other words, she hopes that the royal family conflicts can be resolved by forgiveness.

“Race isn't a new construct in this world for people of color. So it wasn't a complete surprise to hear her feelings and to have them articulated”, she expressed.

“The thing that I hope for and the thing I think about is that this first and foremost is a family.”

“And I pray for forgiveness and healing for them so that they can use this as a teachable moment for us all”, she added.

Rose Hulse, CEO, and founder of Screen Hits TV, also married into the British aristocracy in 2017. She gave her inputs on the situation and her words matter as she is of African and American descent just like Meghan.

Rose acknowledges that she too was independent and successful and fell in love with a blue-blooded Britisher.

Speaking of Meghan she said, ‘Finally, I believed, someone with African-American roots could be a voice for all people of colour and help to educate people. It was a very powerful thing for me.’

She pointed out that the whole royal family was supportive when Prince Charles walked Meghan down the aisle during the grand wedding ceremony.

“Not only was she unequivocally supported by people of colour, but by so many others as well. You could see this by the love shown from everyone who came out to support her and Harry on their tours of the UK, Commonwealth, and South Africa.”

“Yes, there may have been naysayers and haters, but there was also a huge amount of love shown towards them. They were so very popular.”

If Rose had ever got the chance, she would’ve advised Meghan to take a royal family member into confidence to pour out her grievances and she’s sure that Meghan would’ve got some excellent advice.

She admits that Meghan took the right decision by stepping down from her royal duties as the challenges were beginning to affect her mental health. That said, Meghan’s words are powerful and she needs to use them wisely “for they can unite or create great divide.”
