Mural Dedicated to Chadwick Boseman Unveiled in California

An impressive mural paying tribute to legendary actor Chadwick Boseman was unveiled in California Disneyland’s Downtown Disney District on Thursday.

The mural which was painted by Disney artist Nikkolas Smith shows the actor with a young child in the famed “Wakanda forever” pose.

In the work of art, the young child is seen adorning a hospital gown and a ‘Black Panther’ mask. The captivating mural was inspired by photos of Chad’s visit along with cancer-stricken children at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee in 2018.  A period when he was diagnosed with colon cancer!

Smith who worked on Disneyland’s Avengers Campus called the mural his “King Chad” tribute and defined the experience as “full circle moment.”

He wrote, “To millions of kids, T’Challa was a legend larger than life, and there was no one more worthy to fill those shoes than Chadwick Boseman.”

He also wrote an inscription that accompanied the mural: “Seeing Chadwick’s heart for people in-person, and later discovering his courageous battle with cancer, I was inspired to create this tribute to honor his life and legacy. To us, he was and will always be T’Challa. Long Live The King.”

Many visitors took the opportunity to click photographs near the Mural.
