“I Hope The Donation Creates A Spark among Entrepreneurs”, Krishna Chivukula after His Highest-ever Single Donation of 228 Crore to IIT Madras

IIT Madras Alumni, Krishna Chivukula awarded the highest ever single donation of 228 crores. Chivukula, a notable Alumni and student of batch year 1970 pursued his Aerospace Engineering from IIT Madras

The donation is aimed at the development of the IIT Madras infrastructure along with support to the international students, UG fellowship programs, Support Scholar program, and the development of Chivukala block, named after Krishna Chivukala.

Chivukula introduced the MIM (Metal Injection Molding) machine to India in the year 1997 which had huge potential in the USA but lacked usage in India. His plan and strategy ensured a huge potential in India as well. INDO US MIM Tec, owned by Chivukala, now is leading the industry in terms of capacity in production.

Krishna informed the news agencies “ I donated because it makes me happy. Happiness helps in leading a healthy life. I also studied at IIT Bombay and I would be donating to that institute too. I hope the donation creates a spark among entrepreneurs and philanthropists, and they will donate to various institutions in India”

IIT Madras also witnessed a rise in the number of donations with a cumulative amount of 513 Crores. This is a commendable increase of 135 percent, the highest in the history of any Indian University. Many corporate sectors have also donated funds as a part of the CSR initiative.

With 1000 CR projected as revenue, Chivukala proved his responsibility towards society. Where he wanted to uplift the education system and shed support for the underprivileged. His donations remain a testament to the Indian education system.
