Editorial policy

How Scrabbl sources, verifies and edits what it publishes, and who is accountable.

Editorial policy

This page sets out how Scrabbl decides what to publish, how we verify it, and who is accountable for it. It applies to every article on this site, whoever wrote it.

Independence

Scrabbl is published by Infiflex Technologies Pvt Ltd and is editorially independent of it. Advertisers, sponsors, clients and partners have no influence over what we cover or how we cover it. Commercial content is labelled as sponsored and is never presented as editorial reporting. We do not accept payment to publish, alter or remove an article.

Sourcing

  • Every factual claim traces back to a source we can point to: an official statement, a document, a named organisation, published research, or reporting by an identified outlet.
  • Where we report what another outlet has published, we say which outlet and link to it.
  • A news story is not published on a single unverified claim. We look for at least two independent sources, or one primary source such as a company statement, court filing, government release or peer-reviewed paper.
  • Preprints and early research are labelled as not yet peer reviewed.
  • Where facts are disputed or unconfirmed, we say so plainly instead of choosing a side.

Verification and editing

Before publication, an editor checks that each story's claims match its sources, that names, figures, dates and quotations are accurate, that the headline reflects the article, and that the people or organisations criticised have been given their response where one exists. Jude Mohanty, Founder and CEO, Infiflex Technologies Pvt Ltd, is accountable for what Scrabbl publishes.

Bylines and dates

Every article shows an author and the date and time it was published. Substantially updated articles show an updated date. Bylines are explained on our about page. We do not publish under invented personas.

AI assistance

Some of our news reports are drafted with the help of AI tools from multiple published sources and are reviewed by an editor before publication. We never publish unreviewed machine output. Our AI policy explains this in detail.

Corrections

We correct errors openly and promptly. See our corrections policy for how to report one and what we do about it.

Images

We use images we are licensed to use, and we credit them where a credit is required. We do not present AI-generated or altered images as photographs of real events.

Privacy and right of reply

We weigh the public interest against the privacy of the people we write about, and we take particular care with private individuals, victims of crime and children. Anyone who believes we have treated them unfairly can write to info@scrabbl.com and will get a reply.
