1257 Unique Radios Set A Man on The Guinness World Record

With the introduction of digital media and various streaming platforms such as YouTube and Spotify, people have slowly gotten over the radio. Moreover, consistent advertisements and commercials have turned radios back. Ram Sing Boudh from Gajraula has collected close to 1400 radios, which he holds as part of his long inspiration. His remarkable collection led him to the Guinness Book of World Records.

Boudh purchased the radios from 1920-2010 which were bought from different states of India. Since the Guinness Book of World Records only accepts unique items, he had to remove the duplicate radios that belonged to the same model. The final figures of the radios were reduced to 1257 which was listed in the world record. Boudh is the successor to M Prakash who had close to 650 unique radios.

Boudh also claimed that he wanted to inspire the people that are not aware of the radio. He wanted to introduce it to the new generation of people who are delving into digital music streaming. He established the radio museum for future generations. He further added that "10 years ago, on October 3, 2014, PM Modi started Mann Ki Baat, giving a new lease of life to radio and Akashvani, bringing the broadcaster advertisements and money."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also recognized the efforts made by Mr. Boudh in storing the radios. Mann Ki Baat, a radio podcast by PM Narendra Modi has made radio popular among Indian houses. PM further shared a letter to MR. Boudh claiming "Ram Singh Ji is collecting radios for many decades. He says, that after Mann Ki Baat, people's curiosity about his radio museum has increased."
