Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam 3 Hits ₹200 Crore Mark, Shows No Signs of Slowing Down

Drishyam: The Conclusion has crossed the ₹200-crore mark at the Indian box office in just five days, showing that the popular thriller franchise still has considerable pull. Ajay Devgn’s return as Vijay Salgaonkar appears to have struck a strong chord with audiences.

The film reportedly collected around ₹19 crore on its fifth day, taking its India net total to approximately ₹216.50 crore. Its worldwide gross has also moved past the ₹340-crore mark, giving the film a strong start to what could be an impressive theatrical run.

What makes the response particularly interesting is the staying power of the film. After opening with a substantial ₹62 crore, the film continued to attract audiences over the weekend and maintained a healthy pace even as the working week began. That kind of consistency suggests that viewers aren't simply turning up for the franchise name—they are staying invested in the mystery.

And, as expected from a Drishyam film, much of the intrigue lies in what is not being revealed.

Ajay Devgn once again plays Vijay Salgaonkar, the simple family man who has repeatedly demonstrated an extraordinary ability to stay one step ahead of trouble. His carefully constructed world is once again threatened, and the new chapter puts his intelligence, composure and ability to protect his family to another serious test.

Without giving away the twists, the film revolves around another challenge to the secrets Vijay has worked so hard to protect. The question is not merely whether the truth will emerge, but whether Vijay can once again find a way to control the story before it catches up with him.

Tabu returns as Meera, while Jaideep Ahlawat joins the cast as SP Rajveer Singh Tomar, adding another layer of tension to the proceedings. Shriya Saran, Rajat Kapoor, Prakash Raj and Ishita Dutta are also part of the ensemble.

The latest film is being positioned as the concluding chapter of the Hindi Drishyam story, giving the proceedings an added sense of finality. For audiences who have followed Vijay and his family through the earlier films, there is naturally a bigger question hanging over this instalment: can he finally escape the consequences of everything that has happened, or will the past catch up with him?

For now, the box-office numbers suggest that audiences are willing to stay with him until the very end. And perhaps that is the biggest strength of the Drishyam series—it makes viewers feel that they know the game, only to remind them that Vijay Salgaonkar may still have another move left.
