Amitabh Bachchan Greets Fans from Behind Bulletproof Glass amid Heightened Security
Amitabh Bachchan greeted fans outside his Mumbai residence, Jalsa, from behind bulletproof glass amid heightened security concerns. The additional protection comes following a recent shooting incident and reported threats targeting the actor's residence.
Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan continued his much-loved Sunday tradition of meeting fans outside his Mumbai residence, Jalsa, on November 1. However, this week's appearance was noticeably different, as the veteran actor greeted his admirers from behind a protective bulletproof glass enclosure.
The additional security measures come amid growing concerns following a recent shooting incident involving actor Tiger Shroff in Mumbai's Juhu area. Security agencies had also been alerted after an email threatening an attack on Bachchan's residence was reportedly received on October 23.
During his weekly appearance, Bachchan usually stands on a specially designed wheeled platform, allowing the large crowd gathered outside his home to catch a glimpse of him. This time, protective glass panels were placed around three sides of the platform, adding an extra layer of security while allowing him to maintain his connection with his fans.
The actor has been following this Sunday greeting tradition for several decades, making it a special occasion for admirers who regularly gather outside Jalsa. Despite the recent security concerns, he made sure not to miss his weekly interaction with them.
Authorities have reportedly increased security and surveillance at locations mentioned in the threatening email. However, it remains unclear whether the protective glass arrangement at Bachchan's residence was introduced as part of an official security directive or as a personal precaution.
The latest development highlights the growing security concerns surrounding prominent Bollywood personalities, even as Amitabh Bachchan continues to honour his longstanding bond with his fans.
