Ashwini Vaishnav Flags Off Testing of The Hyperloop in The Mumbai-Pune Test Track
Mumbai-Pune Hyperloop tested on a 450-meter track to assess practicality. Claims, Mumbai to Pune in less than 25 minutes.
Hyperloop is an innovative, new-generation travel medium with no pollution or traffic. Being fully electric and vacuum-sealed, It is currently the fastest means of transport. Though the infrastructural needs for installing the Hyperloop are quite large, IIT Madras indigenously tested Hyperloop connectivity.
The great minds of IIT Madras tested the hyperloop between Mumbai to Pune which is said to take less than 25 mins of travel time. Moreover, the hyperloop can reach a speed of 1000 KMPH in a sealed tube which is extremely safe and secured. The innovative design and the practicality of the means can become a reality if there is enough scope and support from different administrations.
The major Milestone was completed when IIT Madras installed a 450-meter test track for Hyperloop to assess the impact and seatiness of the service in India. Union Railway Minister, Ashwini Vaishnav took to X to share photos and media of the newly built track. “India’s first Hyperloop test track (410 meters) completed. Kudos to Team Railways, IIT-Madras’ Avishkar Hyperloop team, and TuTr (an incubated startup),”
The Mumbai-Pune Corridor is one of the most potential sectors where travel time can be reduced. The sector is time-consuming and often faces huge traffic. However, one of the challenges in the development of Hyperloop is the ticket prices as there are a lot of people that make daily travel to Pune or Mumbai, and paying a hefty price for travel on Hyperloop can be quite challenging.
The development of Hyperloop is in two phases. First where an 11 km track will be built to test the feasibility and reliability and the second phase will include a complete 100 km track which will be used as a fully functional and commercial means of transport.
