‘Dhurandhar’ is dominating the box office with strong weekend numbers and glowing reviews, pushing it toward the ₹200-crore milestone and a worldwide total of ₹274.25 crore.
Aditya Dhar’s latest directorial venture, Dhurandhar, is witnessing an extraordinary wave of appreciation from fans, critics, and industry veterans alike. The film has quickly established itself as a powerhouse at the box office, steadily marching toward the coveted ₹200-crore mark. With its remarkable day-to-day earnings and unwavering audience interest, the milestone seems not just achievable, but imminent.
The film opened to an impressive ₹28 crore on Friday, followed by ₹32 crore on Saturday. Its collection surged on Sunday, bringing in ₹43 crore. In addition to its domestic run, Dhurandhar has garnered ₹58 crore overseas in six days, pushing its worldwide total to ₹274.25 crore.
Industry buzz suggests that the film may even surpass the performance of Bajirao Mastani, another Ranveer Singh starrer known for its strong box office run.
Beyond its commercial success, the film which is not for the faint-hearted, is also earning significant attention for its reviews. Among those praising the movie is Hrithik Roshan, who shared a heartfelt response to the film.
“I love cinema; I love people who climb into a vortex and let the story take control—spin them, shake them—until what they want to say is purged out of them onto that screen. Dhurandhar is an example of that. Loved the storytelling. It’s cinema,” Roshan said.
He further added, “I may disagree with the politics of it and argue about the responsibilities we filmmakers should bear as citizens of the world. Nevertheless, I can’t ignore how much I loved and learned from this one as a student of cinema. Amazing.”
Ranveer Singh who has completed 15 years in Bollywood, has been widely appreciated by followers. Ranveer Singh plays the role of Indian Intelligence Agent Hamza Ali Mazari, whose real name is Jaskirat Singh Rangi. Industry analysts say Dhurandhar could be a defining film in Ranveer’s career, positioning him as one of the leading figures in contemporary Bollywood.
Interestingly, it is not just Ranveer who is commanding attention. Akshaye Khanna, known for his understated brilliance, has emerged as one of the film’s most striking revelations. His popularity has surged dramatically, powered by his intense screen presence and magnetic performance amidst a talented ensemble that includes R. Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, and Arjun Rampal.
Khanna plays Rehman Dakait, the feared Baloch gangster who once ruled the streets of Lyari through sheer terror. His portrayal has been described as “enigmatic”—a blend of quiet menace and psychological depth that has left audiences captivated.
