If accurate, this would reinforce Apple’s growing habit of giving its “e” series a predictable annual window, separate from the flagship September launches.

Design-wise, those hoping for dramatic visual reinvention may be disappointed. Reports suggest the iPhone 17e will look strikingly similar to its predecessor. The familiar notch, housing the front camera and Face ID hardware, is expected to remain intact, putting to rest speculation about Dynamic Island making its way to Apple’s budget devices just yet. In short, refinement appears to trump reinvention.

The camera setup is also likely to stay conservative.
