Kanpur Medical Student Detained in Connection with Delhi Blast Case

In a significant development in the Delhi blast investigation, authorities have detained Mohammad Arif, a medical student from Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, for his alleged association with the primary suspect, Dr Shaheen Saeed. ARif, who was pursuing cardiology studies, was taken into custody by the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad(ATS) from his rented accommodation in the Ashok Nagar locality.

The arrest came as part of an intensified probe into the recent blast case that has sent shockwaves across the national capital. Officials revealed that Arif’s name surfaced during digital surveillance and interrogations following the arrest of Dr Shaheen Saeed, who was apprehended earlier this week. Investigators believe Aif may have been in clandestine communication with Saeed, providing logistical or informational support to her alleged operations.

Dr Shaheen Saeed, a Lucknow-based physician, was arrested on Tuesday in connection with the substantial explosive haul discovered in Faridabad. According to Delhi Police sources, Saeed had been surreptitiously working to establish a women’s division of the Pakistan-based extremist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) within India. Her activities, described as both covert and meticulous, indicate a well-structured network functioning under layers of secrecy.

Meanwhile, security has been tightened across key areas in Delhi, Lucknow, and Kanpur. Residents have been urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious movements to local authorities. The investigation remains ongoing, with forensic experts analyzing materials seized from both suspects.
