Last Rites of Anil Mehta to Be Held Today at Santacruz, Family And Friends Pay Their Last Respects
Malaika Arora posts a statement on Instagram to announce the passing of her dad Anil Mehta. His last rites are being held in a crematorium in Santacruz.
Actress Malaika Arora posted an Instagram message announcing the demise of her father Anil Kuldip Mehta yesterday night.
The actress described him as a “gentle soul, a devoted grandfather, a loving husband, and our best friend.” He was 62.
“Our family is in deep shock by this loss, and we kindly respect privacy from the media and well-wishers during this difficult team”, she added.

He is survived by daughters Malaika Arora, and Amrita Arora, and their mother Joyce Polycarp. “With Gratitude, Joyce, Malaika, Amrita, Shakeel, Arhaan, Azaan, Rayyan, Casper, AXL, Duffy and Buddy”, the actress signed off.
Anil Kuldip Mehta allegedly died by suicide on the morning of September 11th by jumping off the sixth floor of his Bandra apartment, Ayesha Manor.
He reportedly made a phone call to his daughters, Malaika Arora and Amrita Arora, a little while before the unfortunate incident, saying he was sick and tired.
Malaika was on her way to Pune for an event when she received a call from her father.
During the unforeseen incident, his wife Joyce Polycarp was present in the flat. She noticed his slippers in the living room when she decided to search for him. Failing to find him, she leaned down from the balcony railing and witnessed a chaotic scene below. The security guard was screaming for help. That’s when she knew that something terrible had occurred.
Malaika arrived at Ayesha Manor looking evidently disturbed yesterday. Her sister Amrita Arora also arrived at the residence looking extremely sorrowful.
Numerous members of the film community came together to lend their support to the grieving family at Ayesha Manor. Celebrities, family, friends and followers also expressed their condolences to the family on social media.
Malaika Arora was spotted today outside her father’s Mumbai residence, along with her mother Joyce Polycarp and son Arhaan Khan as they were preparing for his last rites.
