Mystery Surrounds Death of Actor Humaira Asghar Ali as Petition Alleges Murder

Pakistani actor and model Humaira Asghar Ali was found dead in her apartment in Karachi on July 8, in a tragic discovery that has shocked the nation. New details continue to emerge as a petition has now been filed in court, alleging that the 35-year-old performer was murdered.

Humaira, known for her appearance on ARY’s reality show Tamasha Ghar and her role in the film Jalaibee, had reportedly been missing from the public eye for nearly a year. According to Deputy Inspector General of Police Syed Asad Raza, her last phone call was made in October 2024, while her social media activity ceased in September 2024.

An autopsy confirmed that she died between 8 to 10 months ago, placing her likely time of death between September and November 2024. The delay in discovering her body was attributed to the isolation of her residence, the only apartment on her floor, which remained unoccupied.

In a heartbreaking development, a voice message has surfaced online, allegedly the last known message she sent to a close friend, Dureshehwar. In the message, dated September 2023, Humaira is heard expressing hope and asking for prayers for her career:

“I'm so happy tum Makkah mein ho. Mere liye bohot saari please apni cutie si dost/ behen ke liye bohot saari dil se dua karna. For my career, dua me zarur yaad rakhna. Mere liye bohot saari tumhe dua karni hai.”

 (“You're in Makkah. Please pray a lot for me. Pray wholeheartedly for your cute little friend/sister. Remember me in your prayers for my career. You really have to pray a lot for me.”)

As news of her mysterious death continues to spread, Shahzaib Sohail, a concerned citizen, has filed a petition in a Karachi court, claiming that Humaira was murdered. The petition urges the court to formally include her family in the investigation, suggesting possible foul play behind her death.

Humaira was not only a talented actor but also a theatre performer, painter, sculptor, and fitness enthusiast, with a notable presence on social media. Her death has prompted widespread grief and growing demands for a transparent and thorough investigation.

Police have yet to confirm whether foul play is suspected, but with the court petition now under review, the case appears to be taking a more serious and complex turn.
