Omar Abdullah Orders No Green Corridors Or Traffic Stoppages for Him. Orders No VIP Treatment

Omar Abdullah, after being elected as the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, has ordered the police not to establish green corridors and stop traffic when he passes by the road. This was his first order after becoming the CM of Jammu and Kashmir.

He also requested the cabinet members to pay friendly attention to the people and not use any form of aggressive behavior. He aims to support the people and not cause inconvenience to them. This is one of the boldest actions ever taken by the Chief Minister.

Omar Abdullah was oathed by LG Manoj Sinha at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference. Surinder Kumar of Nowshera was assigned the role of Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir.

Congress leaders such as Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra were present at the oath-taking ceremony. Post the oath, CM Omar Abdullah sat with the ministers of different departments to assess the situation. He also received a guard of honor for the civil secretariat

National Congress was voted for the majority and won the elections by 48 seats out of all 90. The win was possible because of a close alliance and independent votes. BJP brought good figures too with 29 seats out of 90 while CPI-M and AAP with 1 seat respectively.

The win of Omar Abdullah was declared on the 8th of October, perhaps the first election after the successful abolition of Article 370. Jammu and Kashmir have been in an unrest for a long time. After partition, Pakistan was in a conflict of the state's ownership. This has led to immense unrest in the state leading to the death of many people and the inclusion of article 370.
