People Were Hospitalized after They Visited a Barber Who Claimed to Repair Baldness

Hair regrowth has become essential as a trend as stress and the living style of people are causing changes in the hormones for which hair fall is the most evident phenomenon. There are some natural remedies; however, they rarely work on the skin and the follicles. While some spend large amounts of money on hair regrowth and find no result. In a bizarre incident, a man claimed to treat hair fall and assure hair regrowth by applying a lotion. Soon after the person became popular, a lot of people flocked around him, mostly the men that desired to have their hair regrown.

The event turned tragic when people started complaining about irritation in the eyes. The incident happned at Chandulal Baradari, where a barber and a social media influencer, Wakil Salmani, claimed to be able to magically restore hair. Wakil worked at Big Boss Saloon and was popular there. He would shave the heads of the customers before applying a white lotion on their heads with a brush. He additionally directed the customers to not apply any form of shampoo and oil on to the head for 3 days so that effectiveness can be seen.

After videos of him treating bald men went viral on social media channels, dozens of people came to him seeking a remedy. People from far across the city had also visited the saloon only to get the baldness cured. The crowd of people was so much that congestion started near the saloon, sparking concerns for the residents living in the nearby area. After Wakil realised that his saloon had gained popularity, he simply put up a couple of chairs and bit far from his saloon.

One of the residents claimed that close to 150 people would visit them every day, and he would charge around 100 for shaving and provide the lotion for free. “He collected Rs. 100 for shaving the head and told the people that the lotion was applied for free. He claimed, if he collected money for lotion it would not show effect,” claimed Tahjuddin, the resident.

The incident unfolded when a bunch of people visited the hospital after applying the lotion, claiming rashes and irritation. As soon as the barber became aware of the matter, he closed his business overnight and ran into hiding. The shop was situated under Kalapathar Police Station, and neither the police received no complaints from the people.

It sparks a question of what led the barber to commit such a heinous crime and earn money out of it. Many people have claimed to lose their eyesight because of the lotion.
