Saif Ali Khan Clarifies Why He Took Taimur And Not Kareena to The Hospital after Being Attacked

Post Saif Ali’s stabbing attack in his home on January 16, many conspiracies began doing the rounds. 

In his first interview with The Times of India after the attack, the actor clarified many points, including why he went to the hospital with Taimur in an auto rickshaw and not with his wife Kareena.

Saif Ali recalled that around 2 a.m., he and Kareena were sleeping in their room when the maid came and told them that an intruder had entered Jeh's room and was demanding money.

He said that “something took over him”, and he immediately wanted to take down the intruder. The intruder retaliated by stabbing Saif in the back and the neck. Saif, however, did not know the seriousness of the injuries at that moment. 

Saif shared, “I couldn’t handle it after a while as there were two knives in action. I was praying that someone could get this guy off me at this point.”

At that moment Saif’s maid Geeta stepped in and managed to push the intruder away. Then, the two of them managed to reach safety.

He said that he locked the intruder inside Jeh’s room, but he managed to escape through the drainpipe in the kid’s room, which he used earlier to enter. 

After managing the situation, Saif went to the hospital with Taimur and the housekeeper, Hari, since no drivers were available. Kareena took Jeh to Taimur’s room to keep him safe before heading to her sister Karisma Kapoor’s home. 

Saif said that Taimur remained composed throughout the journey. 

Doctors informed Saif that the knife had penetrated his shoulder blade three to four inches deep and was very close to the spinal cord.

A three inch knife blade was removed from his spine. 

  "It was that close: Just one more millimetre and I could have been paralyzed," he said.

“I don’t understand how he missed my carotid artery and jugular vein… it’s not possible to cut somebody’s neck the way my neck is cut, and not kill them,” Saif mentioned. 

Saif has described the incident as a “miracle,” as his crucial veins and arteries remained untouched.

This strange and wacky incident shook the entire nation and will not be easily forgotten by the Bollywood industry and Saif Ali's loyal fans.
