Sara Ali Khan to Feature in a Double Roll for ‘Atrangi Re’ by Breaking with Tradition!
Akshay Kumar and Dhanush starrer ‘Atrangi Re’ might have a double dose of Sara Ali Khan!
Don’t judge the book by the cover. Even if the look from the film ‘Atrangi Re’ might indicate Sara Ali Khan’s on-screen avatar as quite a player… the recent reports might amaze you!
‘Atrangi Re’, a romantic drama earlier appeared to be a romantic drama with one girl, Sara, romancing two men, Akshay and Dhanush simultaneously. However, in a recent report by Mumbai Mirror it is being said that Sara’s might be featured in a double roll.
#AtrangiRe is a past life and present life story. #SaraAliKhan will be paired opposite #Superstar #AkshayKumar in the past life and with #Dhanush in the present life.

The news further reveals, that there would be two different love stories having a cross-cultural angle, set in different eras although running parallelly. Do you smell ‘Love Aaj Kal’, eh?
#AtrangiRe's director #AanandLRai spills some beans on the characters in the film. https://t.co/BSslhNwNLx

Now, that brings us to the recent release of the young actress, ‘Love Aaj Kal’(2020). The movie thrived on a similar plot, two sets of lovers, two different generations, two love stories which not really collide but offers a perspective toward the similarities and differences in romantic relationships divided by time, frame of mind and preferences.
However, the film received harsh criticism by the masses and critics for being just a reflection of its original installment ‘Love Aaj Kal’(2009) made by the same director Imtiaz Ali.
Interestingly, the ‘Love Aaj Kal’ sequel released this 14 February, and ‘Atrangi Re’ which suggests an analogous storyline has set its initial date for release on 14 February, 2021! Coincidence, is it?
But no matter what, experiencing the leading lady in a double roll would be much fun, as Indian films have brought forth more number of double roll flicks for the heroes. And why only blame Hindi cinema, from Shakespeare’s ‘Comedy of Errors’ the makers perhaps have considered male twin plots much more market-friendly. But it was 1972 Hema Malini starrer ‘Seeta Aur Geeta’ bringing about a change in the tradition, later held up by Sridevi in ‘Chaalbaaz’(1989) which was a remake of the prior.
We all look forward to getting a clear picture of the ‘Atrangi Re’ story! Shooting starts by March.
