“She is under observation. She is doing well. There's nothing to worry about,” a source told PTI.
Tanuja married filmmaker Shomu Mukherjee in 1973, and has two daughters, actresses Kajol and Tanisha.
She is the daughter of filmmaker Kumarsen Samarth and actress Shobhna Samarth.
The actress began her career in the Indian Film Industry with her sister Nutan in ‘Hamari Beti’ in 1950 as Baby Tanuja.
She made her debut with Chhabilli which was directed by her mother and had Nutan as the lead heroine.
Particularly, she got noticed for her acting prowess, in the movie ‘Baharen Phir Bhi Aayengi’ under the mentorship of legendary actor Guru Dutt.
The star of yesteryears delivered brilliant performances in movies like Jewel Thief, Izzat, Jeene Ki Raah, Paisa Ka Pyar and so on. She began a parallel career in Bengali cinema in the mid 1960s.
After a long hiatus from Indian cinema, Tanuja made a comeback with movies like Khuddar, Saathiyaa, Khakee and many more.
