The actor declared that he will presently not be the brand ambassador of the brand he had recently signed up to endorse after being brutally trolled for association with the tobacco company. Taking to Twitter on Thursday midnight, Akshay apologized to fans for endorsing the brand following the controversy on the internet.
He also said the brand could keep circulating the ads to him till the legal span of his agreement closes, he will be aware of future choices he makes for advertisements.
Akash Kumar said, "I would like to apologise to you, all my fans and well-wishers. Your reaction over the past few days has deeply affected me. While I have not and will not endorse tobacco, I respect the outpouring of your feelings in light of my association with Vimal Elaichi. With all humility, I step back."
