Actor Vivek Oberoi was overcome with emotion as Sahara Shah, whom he has supported since she was a young child battling cancer, embarked on a new chapter in her life. Now 22, Sahara has overcome cancer, completed her aviation training and is preparing to make her acting debut as the lead in a Nepali film.

Sahara entered Oberoi’s life when she was around two-and-a-half years old and undergoing cancer treatment. At the time, Oberoi was associated with the Cancer Patients Aid Association (CPAA), an organisation that works to support underprivileged cancer patients and their families.

With support for her treatment and education, Sahara went on to overcome the disease and pursue her ambitions. She later completed aviation training, with plans to build a career as a commercial pilot. However, she is now adding another professional pursuit to her journey: acting.

Her decision was announced at a Cancer Rose Day event in Mumbai, where Sahara revealed that she had signed a Nepali film as its female lead. The announcement came as a surprise to Oberoi, making the moment particularly emotional for the actor.
